Presented by City of Mt. Vernon and the Mt. Vernon Community Betterment Council. Red, White and Boom will be Friday evening, June 30, 2006. The swimming pool will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Personal fireworks are prohibited during the Red, White and Boom festivities.

The food tent will open at 5 p.m. Menu items include hot dogs, ham sandwiches, chips, soft drinks, and snacks. They will remain open depending on supplies. Glowing necklaces will be sold this year to help celebrate the festivities. |

We invite you come early and bring your lawn chairs or
blankets and get a good spot. The Spirit of 76 Park will be the best
place for viewing the entertainment and all the spectacular firework
effects.
Everyone is welcome to bring their own food and soft drinks (no alcohol please) if they wish. Picnic tables will be set at the tennis court area and the event will also be a great place to hold family reunions and class reunions. Personal fireworks are prohibited at the event.

Handicap parking will be at the John Taylor Senior Citizen Center. A shuttle for Handicap Only will begin at 5:00 p.m., running until 8:00 p.m. Shuttle will not be running after 8:00 p.m. Parking on the square is recommended for those able. DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY -- Limited Edition Red, White and Boom T-Shirts will be available for purchase at City Hall before the event, or during the event at the Information Booth! Adult - $10.00 Child - $8.00
